Sinopsis:2008. TOMÁS (12) vive en un pueblo de la costa caribe de Colombia y ama la música clásica, al igual que CARLOS (16), su hermano, quien hace días no vuelve a casa. Un día, Tomás escucha un piano en vivo y quiere aprender para sorprender a su hermano a su regreso, pero no tiene dinero para pagar las clases. Construye entonces un piano de cartón y se sienta frente a la ventana del maestro a imitar lo que éste enseña a otro alumno… hasta que finalmente es aceptado. Pero pronto descubre que su nuevo maestro está involucrado en la desaparición de su hermano, pues lo entregó a un miembro del ejército para que éste lo presentara como guerrillero asesinado en combate. El niño intenta cobrar venganza fraguando un plan para destruir el piano del maestro, pero encuentra en la práctica artística una manera de transformar su dolor. Antes de entregarse, el maestro le deja el piano con el que Tomás se convierte en pianista.
Synopsis:
2008. TOMÁS (12) lives in a town on the Caribbean coast of Colombia and loves classical music, as does CARLOS (16), his brother, who has not returned home for days. One day, Tomás listens to a live piano and wants to learn to surprise his brother when he returns, but he does not have the money to pay for the classes. Then, he builds a cardboard piano and sits in front of the teacher’s window to imitate what he teaches another student… until he is finally accepted. But he soon discovers that his new teacher is involved in the disappearance of his brother, as he gave him to a member of the army so that he could present him as a guerrilla killed in combatand thus be able to collect money through a government program. The boy tries to get revenge by hatching a plan to destroy the teacher’s piano, but finds in artistic practice a way to transform his pain. Before giving himself up, the teacher leaves him the piano with which Tomás becomes a pianist.
